Owner Operator LMIA Approval in Surrey, BC
We want to congratulate another one of our dear friends and clients, Anil (Indian citizen), who is the President and General Manager of Shri Shyam Ventures. Shri Shyam Ventures (“SSV”) is a Canadian company that provides high-quality vinyl fabrics and handcrafted home decor products to North America. Anil ji is a dear friend we met at our CIVS New Delhi Promises Made, Promises Delivered. Anil is a astute businessman who attended the Owner Operator business seminar conducted by Canada Immigration and Visa Services (CIVS) in October 2019.
Anil was approved back-to-back for the week of November 14, 2020. CIVS assisted Anil in applying on June 26, 2020. He received his interview request on October 19th and was approved yesterday, November 3rd. As the President and General Manager of SSV, Anil received additional 200 CRS points, and will likely be selected for PR through Canada’s Express Entry system as a Federal Skilled Worker on the next upcoming Express Entry draw. The Owner Operator Pathway requires that your business is fully operational and is designed to support entrepreneurial newcomers like Anil in living the Canadian dream. It’s our privilege now to assist Anil in applying for his and his family’s Work Permit and Permanent Residence in Canada.

Congratulations – Confirmation of Permanent Residency for our friend and client, Monty Singh, originally from Amritsar, India. This was facilitated through PR LMIA arranged by CIVS and also Express Entry Nomination by Alberta.
We also want to congratulate another one of our clients and friend, Monty (Indian Citizen) for receiving his Permanent Residency on November 12th.
In 2019, Sean G McKinsley, Nikola Misina and the team at CIVS Canada Immigration and Visa Services, assisted Monty with his LMIA–supported job in the beautiful town of Lake Louise, Alberta as his pathway for resettlement to Canada. On March 19, 2020, amidst the worldwide economic slowdown from COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Monty received the selection for a 600-point Express Entry pathway by Province of Alberta. The addition of 600 points to Monty’s application made it a mathematical certainty that he would receive his Invitation to Apply (ITA) through the Federal Express Entry system for Permanent Residency. Yesterday, after only 6 months in processing his application for Permanent Residency, Monty received his Confirmation of Permanent Residence document. Monty will now receive his PR card and his passport will be counterfoil identifying his status as Permanent Resident of Canada. Monty will now be eligible to apply for Canadian Citizenship after 2.5 years.

About the Owner Operator Pathway:
The Owner Operator pathway is an efficient process by which foreign nationals may permanently resettle to Canada by starting or purchasing a business.
For the Owner Operator LMIA investor immigrant pathway, the process can be summarized in the following manner:
- Become a majority shareholder in an eligible Canadian business or prepare to start your own business in Canada.
- Submit an application for an Owner Operator LMIA to ESDC (Service Canada) for approval with the support of a professional RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant).
- Once a positive LMIA has been achieved, apply for a Work Permit through an RCIC with the approved LMIA that will be valid for the next 1-2 years.
- Now that you have a positive LMIA and valid work permit, you can own and operate your business in Canada. During this time, while consulting with an RCIC, you can apply for permanent residency to Canada through Express Entry or a Provincial Nominee Program depending on your credentials and situation.
Of course, before purchasing or investigating starting a business, a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) should be obtained so you can travel in and out of Canada.
The owner-operator LMIA stream may be the best pathway for you and your family to immigrate to Canada, especially if you have an existing business, experience in business, and relatively high net worth. For more information on the Owner-Operator LMIA pathway, please visit the Business Entrepreneur Immigration section on our website or our Blog which has an extensive amount of content and articles to help inform you of the process. Specifically, the article linked here outlines the step by step process for the Federal LMIA Owner Operator Pathway to Permanent Residency for business owners.
