The province of Alberta as outlined in the UCP Platform (Government of Alberta) mandate is soon ready to announce four (4) new Alberta Provincial Immigration Programs that will operate through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) and Alberta Express Entry. We are excited to share our thoughts and understanding of each program as they are soon to be announced. We would like to especially thank, James Carpenter, our friend and partner, the Champion for Small Business in Rural Alberta.

I. Foreign Graduate Startup Visa

This is one of the most exciting proposed programs that truly has the capability to position Alberta as a world leader in IT and Technology StartupsThe proposed Foreign Graduate Startup Visa Program is designed to offer a fast track pathway to Canadian Permanent Residency for foreign graduates of top American universities who wish to launch their startup in Alberta

II. International Student Entrepreneur Program

The International Student Entrepreneur Program will allow foreign graduates of Alberta post-secondary institutions to start or acquire their own business with a provincial nomination pathway to permanent residency. Foreign business owners and entrepreneurs who create jobs for Albertans and improve the economic activity of this province will have a pathway to permanently resettle here.

III. Rural Entrepreneur Immigration Program

This Rural Entrepreneur Immigration Program would allow communities to pair with immigrants who want to start and manage their businesses in small towns. Some of the greatest opportunity lies in rural Alberta, specifically between the Calgary and Edmonton corridor. It is here where affordability and opportunity meet for newcomers.

IV. Rural Renewal Immigration Program

The Rural Renewal Immigration Program prioritizes AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program) applications from foreign nationals who are committed to living and working in smaller communities throughout Alberta. As per Jason Kenney, 32,000 newcomers could come into Alberta through this program.
