Anthony and Windy
Anthony and his wife, Windy are from Hong Kong and have an impressive career history, including awards for merit and top sales in Anthony’s field of financial planning. Anthony’s role over the years has been with a top shelf financial planning and investment company for which his responsibilities include relationship management, business development and investment consulting. Anthony is highly educated, as he received his BBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hong Kong and later obtained his Master of Science in Investment Management from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Both Anthony and Windy are fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as English. They are both dog lovers and have pets on their own. These skills and passion for furry friends make Anthony and Windy a great fit for the role of CEO for Urban Tails Pet Group.
Case Success Story – Urban Tails Pet Group
Earlier this year, CIVS was interviewed by Anthony and Windy, married with 3 children. A wealthy banker, Anthony was interested in immigrating to Canada with his family but did not have a valid job offer or other means to obtain a work permit. As part of the assessment eligibility process, the team at CIVS (including Managing Partner, Sean G McKinsley, Vice President, Steven J Paolasini, Nikola Misina, Partner, and Hong Kong Team Leader, Connie Kwok) confirmed Anthony and Windy had the education, work experience, English skills, financial liquidity necessary and other factors to purchase and invest in growing a Canadian business under the Owner Operator LMIA pathway.
After some deliberation, the team at CIVS assisted in sourcing a business in alignment with Anthony and Windy’s lifestyle and dream to settle in Calgary, Alberta. Anthony and Windy transferred the funding required for the purchase of the business, additional investment capital to improve the business as well as working capital for operations. The Urban Tails Pet Group, a small pet food store, was purchased and the business development branch at CIVS sourced and found the first staff member to operate and manage the store.
The store is currently operating, sales are improving, and Anthony’s LMIA application is in the process of being approved. In addition to the owner’s salary, Anthony and Windy’s business created two (2) new positions, a Store Manager and Bookkeeper, which were filled by Canadian Citizens.
Anthony and Windy plan on opening chain of stores in Alberta and it is their dream to expand to a team of more than 2 dozen Canadian co-workers.
Upon approval of his 2-year LMIA, Anthony will be able to obtain his work permit at the airport and Windy will obtain an open work permit (to work for any employer in Canada) for 2 years. Their three children will automatically be given access to free public education, healthcare, and most other benefits workers and residents of Canada receive. He will also be eligible for Express Entry and his current points indicate that he will be drawn imminently upon LMIA approval.
