Pathway to Immigration

Good news for the current Temporary Foreign Workers in Canada right now!

The government of Canada had opened an opportunity for the pathway of permanent residency through Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program to more than 2,000 temporary foreign workers in the country. The said program, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), grants the associated provinces and territories to present an appointed number of economic immigration candidates yearly for Canadian permanent residency due to the demand of the local market labour.

According to the statement of Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship that, “Temporary foreign workers fill long-term labour market needs and contribute to the growth of our economy and we recognize the need to provide opportunities for them to transition to permanent residence – and these additional spaces under the Provincial Nominee Program will do just that.”

The additional 2,000 PNP slots are primarily for the current long term temporary foreign workers in the country that meets the required intermediate skills for the National Occupational Code “C”.

The goal of the government for this year is to reach the target of 61,000 for the provincial nominee program, that would lead to an increase over the admissions from the past years.
